Skip Beat!

Skip Beat! was one the very anime shows that I watched, so it holds a special places in my heart. If you don't know what Skip Beat! is all about than I shall give a brief summary. Skip Beat! is about a girl named Kyoko who goes to Tokyo with her childhood friend and first love, Sho. Sho becomes a famous signer and only views Kyoko as a plain, ordinary girl. Kyoko over heard Sho talking about how she was plain, so she said that she would get her revenge. Kyoko than enters the show biz world herself and things don't always go as she plans.
Skip Beat! is all about the humor of Kyoko and her getting revenge and most importantly her trying stop herself from loving Ren. As the show goes on Kyoko learns that she really loves acting, so she kind of forgets about her getting revenge on Sho. I love that as you watch the show or even read the manga you see Kyoko evolve into this bright, cheery girl that loves to act. Kyoko also is like an amazing actress, she can play like any character. Kyoko is really a lovable girl that you can't help but love. Her love of fairy tales and princess and the fact that she acts like a 7 year old can get old at times, but that is also the way that she is. All that she is obsessed with is part of who she is a character and that is kind of why you can't help but love her.
When I first watched Skip Beat! I wasn't that big of a fan of it. Yeah it was funny and it had a great story and all, but something kept me from loving it. Months later when I actually started to read the manga where the anime left off I became hooked. I couldn't stop reading it. I really loved the arcs that happened in the manga. After reading the manga I really do think that Skip Beat! should get a second season. It really deserves a second season. Where the anime leaves off is really awkward, I didn't care for it. The only way you could describe it would be a read the manga ending.
There are so many reasons as to why I love Skip Beat! and one of those reasons is because the characters are so great. They are so funny, but they can also be dead serious. They are the type of characters that when they are serious you will take them serious even though they have a corky personality 95% of the time. I like all the characters, but I think I love Yashrio the best. He's just the best! He is also the best manager ever! He really knows how to push Rens buttons. Yashiro is also like the ultimate fanboy. Another reason as to why I really like him is because he is like the ultimate Kyoko and Ren shipper. Yashiro was like the first one to figure out that Ren liked Kyoko and he keeps teasing Ren over it too.
If there is anything that I have to complain about it would be the fact that Kyoko and Ren are both really dense! They like each other but they won't do anything about their feelings! It's taking way to long for them to get together! I guess it's just going to take a while. It better happen sometime though cause if it doesn't than I will be very upset! I have read the manga for Skip Beat! like three times so I have grown attached to the characters and I have also become a major Ren and Kyoko shipper, so if they don't get together I will be very unset. I will most likely end up punching a pillow or something like that, I don't really know. I'm sure that the author will have them get together sometime in the near future. I'm sure of it, I mean the manga seems to going that direction right now. So I guess we just have to give it time.
I think that's all I really got to say about Skip Beat! I have no idea what show I will write about next. There are just to many good shows out there. I'm sure I will write about The Time We Were Not in Love when it wraps up in a few more weeks, before that I have no idea. Anyways till next time!

Healer

I know that drama reviews aren't the most popular and all but I really want to write about Healer. This show is so amazing that words can't even describe how awesome it truly is. It's a show that has action, suspense, a little comedy, some romance and best of all a really well thought out story. The story for Healer is amazing. I wouldn't change a thing about the story. The show is so good that I have been feeling a void since yesterday. If I was getting a void when I haven't even finished the show yet I knew it was going to be bad when I did finish it and here I am feeling empty. I am currently listening to the OST trying to get over the pain that I am in.
When I first heard about Healer I wasn't to sure of it. I put it on my list of shows to watch, but than I later took it off, but than after a while I saw some stuff so I got to thinking maybe it wouldn't hurt to watch it. So I put it back in my list and it sat there for months of course. It's not like I didn't want to watch it, it was just that I wanted to watch other shows. I am really glad that I watched it now, because if I watched this during the school year it would be bad news. I also made the right choice of not watching it when it was airing. If I did who knows what state I would be in. Summer truly is the best time to watch Healer. It also doesn't hurt that the shows title is Healer.
I don't really feel like explaining what Healer is all about. I will just say that it is a show that has a lot of twits and turns and there is never a dull moment. Oh, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is only one this that I would like to change and that would be the ending. The last episode didn't fall flat, it just wasn't fully there. It needed to explain a few more things. I'm not going to say what needed to be better explained because that would cause spoilers and I don't want to do that. One thing that I really loved about Healer was that I could sit down in bed and watch five or six episodes straight without making me tired or me wishing that the episode would finish. I never once wanted the episode to end. There aren't a lot of dramas that I have watched where I could lay down in my bed and watch episode after episode and not wish for it to end. There is another reason as to why Healer kept me so intressted. At the end of an episode it can leave you off with a nice cliffhanger and when they didn't give me a preview I had no choice but to watch the next one.
With all great shows comes a great OST. Healer definitely has a great story, great characters and a great OST. It is in my top drama OSTs for sure. I know that Mask has great music so I am waiting to see which OST is better, Mask or Healer. They will be battling it out for spot number two. Number one belongs to My Love from Another Star, I really love that OST. When you listen to the music for Healer you can truly imagine the show in your head. It's almost like you're watching the show again. I I also love the use of sting instruments throughout the soundtrack, they add so much to the soundtrack.
Healer is a must watch for sure. It is also a re-watch. I have plans to re-watch this show sometime. I wonder what would happen I re-watched it right now. Would my void grow larger, would it disappear, or would it stay the same? Just a warining if you do watch Healer, you will have major Boys over Flowers moments. It will get ugly, so have a pillow handy so you can punch and throw it. When I have Boys over Flowers moments having a pillow ready comes in handy. That's all I got to say for Healer. Bye.

Fairy Tail

If you are an otaku, like me, than you know that FT is one of the most popular anime shows/manga right now. Fairy Tail is all about family and sticking together through thick and thin. For some people FT might to long a show for them, but if you take the time to watch it you will realize that it is a fantastic show. I first watched FT two years ago when it had 175 episodes. I watched it in a week or two. I can't really member. Once I finished the anime I picked up the manga and started reading that. I started with the chapter where the anime left off on. Before you judge me for watching the anime and only reading the manga from where the anime left off from, let me say this. I did actually did read all of the FT manga, just not right away. When I found out that FT was getting picked up again for another season, last year I was so happy. When the first trailer was released I watched that thing so many times. I love that they upgraded the animation. I like the newer animation than the older animation.
Now like all long running anime shows there is a ridiculous number of characters in FT. The list keeps growing too. You would think that with as many characters as this show has that it would affect the show, but it really doesn't. If anything it adds more variety and depth to the plot. Not to mention that some how some of the characters are connected. An example of this would be Natsu and Zeref. Fairy Tail never fails to surprise me. The arcs do get a little long at times. That is mainly because it's a weekly manga and they tend to be about 20 pages or so.
FT has very unique characters. I'll focus on a few of the main characters. Natsu is all about protecting his FT family, he tends to go a little over broad when it comes to fighting. He once destroyed part of a town! Okay, he destroyed a lot of things, that's just what he's like. Natsu has never been one to back down from a fight no matter who it is or how strong they are, cause Natsu will always will beat them. Lucy is I think is the only real "normal" character in this series. She keeps Natsu, Gray and Erza all in check. She can be a little big-headed at times, but that what makes a good match for Natsu. I'm a NaLu shipper. Gray is a guy that can't keep his clothes on. He is constantly stripping, because it's a habit of his from when he was training to be an ice mage. Erza, don't ever touch her cake. If you do you are sure to die, oh and she is one of the strongest FT mages. I know those aren't good descriptions, but I've been all that good at describing things. Sorry.
FT is one of my fav. anime show, mostly because it never fails to surprise me. I am actually behind on the anime, but I did read the latest chapter. The latest FT arc is so good right now. I can't wait for the next chapter. When you put Zeref in it makes for a good story. I still don't know whether I should hate Zeref or not. He's kind of in between, I guess. While FT does fall short for me sometimes, it is still a good show to watch. Yes, it is a long running show, but that shouldn't mean you shouldn't watch it. I was unsure if I watched to watch it because I watched Bleach and that has 366 episodes. I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch another really long show. When I started it, I didn't regret a thing. Am I going to watch another really long show again, I'm not sure. I don't think I will, but never say never.
That's all I got for Fairy Tail. Till next time. Bye.

Mask(thoughts so far)

So I started this drama a little later than I would have liked. I was going to watch this drama when it first came out but I just never got around to it for some reason. I finally got around to watching it a couple of weeks ago. When I watched the first few episodes I kind of wished that I started it a whole lot sooner, but I was also happy that started it later. I don't think I could have handled the suspense. I can hardly handle the suspense now that I've started watching it. Mask is show that really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat and that's one of the things I love about it. So for this entry I will talking about what my thoughts of Mask are so far.
The Korean drama Mask has 14 episodes right now and is getting a 20 episode run. The first episode or so are kind of confusing, in my opinion. As the show goes on it gets less confusing, which is nice. This show is about the main female lead(Ji Sook) dying(not really) and becoming Eun Ha, a rich heiress and the daughter of a senator. Ji Sook and Eun Ha happen to look like identical twins, in other words they are doppelgangers. So the legend of when you see your doppelganger is who ever sees who first will be the first to die. In the case of this show that legend happens to be true. Eun Ha saw Ji Sook first so therefore she was the first to die. You would think that this wouldn't be that big of a deal but since this a drama her death was a very big deal. Ji Sook ends up taking Eun Ha's place and marries Min Woo. In order for Ji Sook to take Eun Ha's place she would have to "die". I think you figure out what happens next throughout the show.
Now that I explained what the show is about I can now talk about all the other things without trying to give away spoilers. I will try my best, but it will be hard. Lets start with what I like about the show so far.
1. The acting is really good. The second female lead(Mi Yeon) reminds me of the second female lead from My Love from Another Star.
2. The OST is to die for and I am not exaggerating at all. There aren't a whole lot of shows that I've watched that have really good OSTs. My Love from Another Star and Blood are the two shows that I really love their music. It's a shame I can't find Blood OST anywhere. It had really good music.
3. The fashion is pretty good, some outfits might not be my taste but still good fashion.
4. Min Woo's OCD at the beginning of the show was pretty great. Just saying. The OCD had its moments.
5. Seeing who much Ji Sook has grown from episode 1 to episode 14 and the fact that she finally got a backbone in like episode 10.
6. Seeing the love slowly start to blossom between Ji Sook and Min Woo.
I'm going to leave off with that. There are so many more reasons why I love this show, but I'll just name a few. Now I shall go on to the don't like list. Be prepared.
1. Seok Hoon, I'm going to leave it at that.
2. Mi Yeon, I don't hate her, but I don't fully like her either. I know that she does care for Min Woo as his sister but she can be a little off? at times. I don't really know how to describe her.
3. The fact that Ji Sook had no backbone what so ever for 9 episodes.
4. I really hate how Seok Hoon has to be in on every single thing that Ji Sook does. I get that you don't want her secret to be found out and all, but still you don't know every single thing she does.
5. I really hate that Seok Hoon has all these cameras set up to spy on Ji Sook. How do you think she would feel if she knew that you were spying on her?
6. Another thing related Seok Hoon. The fact that he treats Mi Yeon so coldly and tells her all these lies is disgusting. He didn't even look all that happy when Mi Yeon thought that she was pregnant. Some husband he is.
The rest of the list is mostly comprised of Seok Hoon. What can I say I just don't like him. Some how
I think that I would like Mi Yeon so much more if she wasn't married to him. I guess we will never know. Some people might hate on the actress who plays Ji Sook because of the type of character that she is playing. Some people might say that she can't act because of this show. I actually think that the actress that plays Ji Sook is a really good actress. It's not that she can't act it's the way the character Ji Sook is. The character Ji Sook reminds me a lot of Mi Young from the korean remake of Fated to Love you. It's not that the actress is bad at acting it's just the way that the character is and the way that they portray that character. So don't hate of the actress that plays Ji Sook. If you were in Ji Sook's place you would have a hard time acting like someone else. If you were in her place you might even act just like her. You just have to look at it from a different angle.
I will leave off with that. I hope that I can get back to writing again. I haven't been all that great once summer got here. Sorry about that. Till next time. ;)

Secretly, Greatly

This was one of the first Korean movies I ever watched and I loved every minute of it. I loved it so much that I have watched it three times now. Every time I watch it I still want to cry at the end. Secretly Greatly does a great job of transitioning from funny to serious really well. Now you are probably wondering what this movie is about. Well let me explain.
This movie is about a North Korean spy who goes down to the south to well spy. The spy is played by none other than Kim Hyun Soo! Him being in this movie is also why its go great. Kim Hyun Soo has been in South Korea for two years and his undercover is the town idiot. He does a really good job of acting as the town idiot. It also doesn't take much to act like an idiot too. As time goes on two more spys come to Kim Hyun Soo town and than they receive an order to commit suicide. I'm going to leave it off there, not because I'm doing a bad job of explaining, but because I don't want to spoil the movie.
One thing that I discovered with this movie is that Lee Hyun Woo is in it! If you don't know who he is if you watch The Technicians he plays the computer hacker. I kind of fell for Hyun Woo-oppa when I watched The Technicians. So when I watched Secretly Greatly again I fangirled every time I saw Hyun Woo-oppa. When it comes to fangirling over actors there has only been two that I've fangirled over. One of course is Hyun Woo-oppa and the other is L from infinite.
Back to Secretly Greatly. This movie has a great plot line. The music is okay, not fantastic, but its not terrible. I haven't watched a lot of Korean movies, but of the ones that I've watched this one is my favorite. I also had tears in my eyes at the end of this movie. It gets so emotional towards the end. They really know how to kill you with sadness at the end of this movie.
Secretly Greatly is a great movie. It makes you laugh in the beginning than makes you cry at the end. It's the kind of movie that you never want to end. It really is a movie worth checking out. Even if your not sure you'll like it just watch five minutes of it. You won't regret it. That's all I got for Secretly Greatly. Comment and let me know what I should review next. I'm having a hard time figure out what shows to review.
